About Wilton Books
More About Us
We’re new on the scene and dedicated to finding and publishing quirky and amusing illustrated books for children and adults. Our founder spent 30 years writing behind the scenes of a legal career and ventured into publishing after seeing how difficult it was for new writers and illustrators to break into the big commercial publishing houses.

Our Mission
Mission and first publications
Our mission is to find intelligently written, amusing stories for older children that have a strong sense of place, and which lend themselves to illustration. We aim to produce books to a high standard of design, so that we can enter them for design prizes, as well as literary prizes. We actively market our authors across a variety of media.
Our Staff
No man is an island. And although our publisher has had to be a jack of all trades, from writer to editor to trademarks attorney to website builder to marketing guru, the job of bringing beautiful children’s books into the world would be impossible without the team of independent editors, proofreaders, graphic designers, illustrators, IT bods and distributors who have made the launch of Wilton Books possible.
Our First Publications
We are launching with the first five books of the Lakeland Mysteries series.
Meet the Donaldson girls – primary schoolers and detectives. They are forever being plunged into exciting, and often dangerous, adventures which call upon their skills of logical deduction and emotional perception. Mae, clever and very, very proper. Isla, a wild, artistic soul most at home wandering the fells of England’s beautiful Lake District. They are united by an uncanny ability to share their thoughts.
